September 23, 2008 - Fire Fall Objective was a couple of weeks ago and the Contra Forces were beaten despite my best efforts.  JSOC ended up winning the series of OES and FFO. 

The team's trip to EMR is this weekend for Castle Conquest.

Congratulations to Kamikaze and his wife are expecting their third child.

July 5, 2008 - Yet another long break in between updates.  Here is what has happened since the last update.

Operation: Eminent Storm - May 14 - 18, 2008 - I led the Contras to victory against the JSOC invaders.  This is only the first part of a two part game.  The second part will be played during Fire Fall Objective on September 5-7, 2008 at Smak Zone Paintball.  Since I was General for this game I was not able to take any in game pictures, so I have none to post.

A couple of weeks after FFO is Castle Conquest at EMR, which the team is also getting ready for.

Congratulations to Joker and Stephanie who are now expecting their first child.

April 28, 2008 - Today the members who were able, plus Cobra and Visor with SOG 7, participated in Xtreme Paintball's first 10 man SPPL Tournament.  It turned out to be a close game, but the team won in the end with Total Grief taking Second place.  Congratulations to the members who participated.

March 9, 2008 - We just found out today that Maddman Paintball is going to sponsor our team. 

Our website has been up for two years now.  Congratulation to Predator, his baby boy, Hunter, was born on February 26.  Last night was the viewing of the 2007 Samurai highlight movie, good job Kamikaze.  On March 1st, Smakman, Viper and myself (Dinadin), brought my halftrack to the filming of some scenes for the WWII movie Rhineland.  We have now joined Shifty as being extras on this movie.  Our team schedule for the year has been updated and posted.

January 1, 2008 - Happy New Year!  Well it has been a while since I updated the News.  Our Isle of the Dead 2 game went over well.  The money we made from the game is going to be used to pay for us to go to a game in September.  After the IoD 2 we also added a new member, Shifty.  The Christmas Clash was on December 1st and I posted my pictures from it.

Sometime in mid-January Predator's first child is due.  Good luck.

This year at Operation: Eminent Storm I will be the Contra General.

October 14, 2007 - Congratulations go out to Andy "Joker" and Stephanie McCall who were married last month.  Maybe she will calm him down some, we shall see.  Just kidding.  Congratulations also go out to Vixen and Pitbull who are now expecting their first baby.  The baby is due around the time of OES next year.  So neither one of them will be there, which means we won't have to go up against Vixen's leadership abilities for that game.

The team is getting ready to host Isle of the Dead 2 at Smak Zone again this year.

Last weekend Smakman and myself, Dinadin, went to No Hard Feelings for their Fire Base Gloria scenario.  Pictures are posted in the galleries section.

September 17, 2007 - I am about a week behind, September 7th - 9th was Fire Fall Objective at Smak Zone Paintball.  JSOC were able to win the day on Sunday and take the victory.  Congrats JSOC.  FFO saw the debut of Viper's Venom and my Halftrack.  Venom raised hell all over the battlefield and was talked about by everyone.  There was not a lot of pictures or video from this game, because it rained almost all day Saturday.

This summer has been an eventful one for many of the team members on a personal level.  Bullet Sponge got married back in May or so.  Kamikaze and his wife had their second child last month.  Joker is getting married at the end of this month and Predator is expecting his first baby in February.

August 13, 2007 - MAN IS IT HOT!!  I am sorry for the lack of updates not a lot has happened over the last few months.  Both the Gauntlet and MOUT games were canceled because of a lack of interest.  Most of the Samurai and some friends went to Xtreme Paintball in Milstadt, IL a few weeks ago and everyone who went have a fun time.  I made a video of what I was there for and posted it on Youtube.  Fire Fall Objective is coming up in four weeks on September 7 - 9th.  This is going to be a continuation of the battle from OES.  The Contras are behind by 30 points and we mean to make up that difference and then some.  We also want to send out our best wishes to Dropzone and Pigpen of the Green Devils, they have decided to retire from paintball. 

April 30, 2007 - Operation: Eminent Storm is over but the battle continues.  JSOC successfully regained control of Satcom.  It was a hard won fight.  Despite having 140 troops JSOC to the Contra's 102, the final score was JSOC - 350 to Contra - 320.  Us Samurai and the rest of the Contras did not go down easily.  That might have been the toughest and closest fight we have ever had.  We are fired up about continuing the fight and reversing the deficit at Fire Fall Objective.  Until then we are getting ready for Gauntlet and MOUT.  Hopefully we will be able to get some fun games in this summer.  The picture and video galleries from OES will be going up soon.

April 24, 2007 - Well it has been a while since there has been update.  The past month has been busy for many of us.  We have had at least two work weekends at Smak Zone to help get ready for Operation: Eminent Storm, which is this weekend.  An extensive network of trenches was dug, for the most part, by Viper in a mini-excavator.  Two galleries of the work weekends have been added.  There will also be a new gallery for OES sometime next week.

March 19, 2007 - Spring Fling is now over and the SOTAP Forces beat the predators.  I, Dinadin, disguised my identity and posted under the alias of Gen. Halftrack to keep the game challenging.  In the galleries section there is the collection of pictures which were taken during the game.  We would also like to welcome our newest member Logan, aka Scorpin.  You can also check out the videos I have posted on YouTube under my id Dinadin90.

February 15, 2007 - A video has been added with our new uniforms.  It is in the sidebar to the left under Samurai '07 Video.  Be warned though that it is about 10 megs in size, so it may be a slow download if you don't have a fast connection.

February 3, 2007 - Our website now has a new look.  How do you like it?  Updates will be coming soon for the members section also.

January 14, 2007 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Today we had a photo session with our new uniforms.  As time goes on our member pages will be updated with these pictures.  All of the pictures will be in the galleries section.  Our next game will be Spring Fling at Smak Zone.

December 7, 2006 - It has been awhile since the news has been updated.  Since the last update we had a fun game at Viper's house and we played at Christmas Clash.  There are pictures from both games in the Galleries section.  The winter storm on December 1st knocked out the power to many of the team members and only about half the team was able to make to the Christmas Clash. 

The team's thoughts are with Headshot right now.  We hope she gets well and back to playing again soon.

Also please take a moment to remember the "date which will live in infamy."  Today is the 65th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

October 29, 2006 - A bit of good news and bad news to announce.  First our good news, we held our Isle of the Dead game on the 21st and 22nd.  The game went well and there were 78 players in attendance.  The game started off 44 Marines to 34 Zombies and at the end there were 16 Marines.  Just before the final battle the Marines jumped ahead in points and put the Zombies on the defensive.  The Zombies held off the Marines' assault on the Outpost.  We are also proud to welcome our newest member Smakman, the owner of Smak Zone.  We are also happy to announce that our friends Team Blackout have their website up and running.

Now of the bad news.  We sad to announce the retirement of Mad Maxx and BOHICA.  Mad Maxx, Kevin, is retiring because of some person good news, his wife is expecting their third child and he does not currently have the time to play right now.  We hope this one is a boy, because right now they have two girls and having four women to one man would be too much estrogen in that house.  BOHICA is being retired because Headshot and Oneshot have other uses for it and they want to do some ground pounding again.  Don't worry we have new tank in the works.

October 13, 2006 - The Island of the Dead game will be next weekend and we are rapidly getting ready for it.  We are still getting props together and we are having a work day tomorrow at Smak Zone.  Over the last month we have had a few interesting contacts that we are planning on following up on, but won't go into any further detail until we know more.

September 18, 2006 - Fire Fall Objective is over and the World Team retained its honor, evened the two game series and won the day.  Predator won the Sportsmanship Award from the Woodland Warriors team.  We as a whole won the award for the best Campsite amongst the World teams, but it really should have been considered one super campsite with Team Blackout and Rowan Platoon.  They were as much a part of it as we were.  It was a fun weekend.

Our condolences and prayers go out to the family of Joshua N. Winckler call sign Spyderman, member of the Green Devils and Woodland Warriors.  He was killed Friday morning in an auto accident.  He was our general at the Battle of Berlin - 2005 and we won't forget him. 

August 20, 2006 - There has not been much at all to report.  We had a work day in early July and played a little the next day.  There are pictures in the Galleries.  The rules for the Island of the Dead game have been posted.  Take a look and read them, so that there will not be any surprises at game time.

June 17, 2006 - I have been behind on updating the team news, I am sorry.  Last weekend there was a fun game held at Smak Zone on June 11.  There were only ten players total, but we still had a fun time.  As usual it rained on us when we started to play, but after 45 minutes of rain it stopped and we continued to play.  There are some good pictures and video of the game in the galleries section.  Also four additional pictures have been added to the OES galleries, courtesy of Tallon Gere. 

June 4, 2006 - A link has been added for our Island of the Dead game which will be held at Smak Zone on Oct 20th - 22nd.  Additions and rules updates will be forth coming.

May 22, 2006 - VIVA LAS CONTRAS!!!  The Contras fended off the invading JSOC forces at Operation: Eminent Storm V.  Predator and Kamikaze did an awesome as a part of the Contra Command Staff.  Unfortunately  the Samurai curse continued and the Sunday portion of the game was called due to the rain.  OES was also the unveiling of BOHICA our paintball tank.  Along with the pictures from OES pictures from our BBQ on May 6th will also be posted.  Now we start working towards Fire Fall Objective and fending off the Woodland Warriors.

May 7. 2006 - Congratulations go out to Hybrid, now called Carbon Hybrid for becoming our newest member.  Yesterday we played a game at Bonne Terre Paintball Field to take a look at their new woodsball field.  We had a good time and afterward we went to a BBQ at Headshot and Oneshot's house.  True to Samurai tradition during the BBQ we got rained on.

April 24, 2006 - Congratulations to Bullet Sponge and Max Hattuer on becoming our newest members.  Last weekend we had a work day at Smak Zone.  We got quite a bit done and you can see some of what we did in our Galleries section.

April 16, 2006 - We decided not to go to Monte Casino this year because it is only two weeks before OES.  It was going to be to much of a strain on to many of our members, so we just decided to have a fun game instead.  We apologize to anyone who was expecting us to be at Monte Casino and we hope you understand.  Operation Eminent Storm is our big game for the spring, especially since Predator and Kamikaze are on the Contra Command Staff.  Wish us luck.

April 4, 2006 - Last weekend was Panzer Attack.  We had a fun time and gave them a good fight, even though we were facing 2 or 3 to 1 odds.  As usual we got rained on during a scenario game.  That is 6 for 6 games now.  The pictures from Panzer Attack are now on display in our gallery section, so feel free to check them out.

On April 22 we will going to Smak Zone to help do some work on the field and then there will be an open play game there on April 23.  We are also looking forward to Monte Casino and Operation Eminent Storm, which are both in May. 

March 25, 2006 -  Next weekend is Panzer Attack.  It is the first of two Woodland vs. the World games. 

We are also working on running our first game on October 21st at Smak Zone

March 8, 2006 - Welcome we finally have our website up and running.  Lets us know what you think.

Last Saturday was Spring Fling at Smak Zone.  Everyone had a lot of fun and we came up with a lot of exciting plans for the future.  Stay tuned and we will let you know more once our plans are more definite.
